India doesn’t have 5G, but Realme’s 5G flagship is coming anyway

5G is the future of mobile, there’s no doubt about it. There are already a few 5G networks available for use around the world, but many countries won’t see 5G switched on for quite some time. One of those countries lacking 5G service is India, but that won’t stop the Realme X50 Pro 5G from landing there.

As confirmed on Twitter by the CEO of Realme, Madhav Sheth, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will absolutely get an Indian launch on February 24. In fact, the company is giving away invites to the launch on Twitter.

Check out Sheth’s tweet below which includes a teaser image of the as-yet-unrevealed X50 Pro 5G:

If all goes to plan, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will be India’s first commercially-released 5G smartphone.

Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with releasing a 5G phone in India. After all, it will still connect to the country’s 4G networks just fine. However, 5G smartphones are still much more expensive than 4G phones, so we can expect the Realme X50 Pro 5G to cost quite a bit of cash. To spend that money and not have any use for the main aspect of the device that makes it cost so much money seems a little silly.

Realme has already confirmed some of the specs for the X50 Pro 5G. It will have a Snapdragon 865 processor, 65W wired charging, a 90Hz display refresh rate on a Super AMOLED panel, and more. Pricing and availability, though, are still unknown.
