It’s finally here, kids: the PlayStation 5 has finally launched, and it’s got a plethora of games to play on it. Here are our takes on each one. As with the Xboxes, there are two versions of the new console on offer — the regular edition, and the digital edition. The only major difference between the two appears to be that the standard version has a disc drive, allowing you to play physical copies of your games. NASA finally calls Voyager 2 spacecraft after ghosting it for months

NASA recently made contact with the Voyager 2 spacecraft for the first time in months. This ultra-long distance call was made using the only telescope in the world capable of communicating with the distant interplanetary explorer. It’s official: YouTube has canceled Rewind 2020

YouTube doesn’t want you to remember 2020. The Google subsidiary has announced it’s canceling 2020’s instalment of Rewind, its annual look back at the year’s most memorable moments. The decision marks the first time the company has decided to skip this ritual since its inception in 2010. In a tweet, YouTube acknowledged that although there has been plenty of “good that did happen in 2020,” it ultimately doesn’t find it appropriate to wrap up the year with a new edition of Rewind. Messenger and Instagram’s ‘Vanish Mode’ makes chats self-destruct with a swipe

It was just last week that Facebook introduced ephemeral messages in WhatsApp that disappear in seven days. Now the company is going a step further by introducing “Vanish Mode” for Messenger and Instagram, which will automatically delete text messages and media as soon as they are viewed and you leave the chat. Google Photos is ending free unlimited storage in 2021 — so what’re your options?

Google did it again. It is shutting down one of the most popular features across its product universe: Google Photo’s free unlimited storage. Tesla squeezes 5% more power into 2021 Model 3 with hardware improvements

Despite announcing its entirely new 4680 cells at its long-awaited battery day event in September, Tesla hasn’t given up on improving its current crop of 2170 power units. According to Electrek, Tesla has improved the energy density of its 2170 cells by around 5%. The 2021 Model 3 specification lists an 82 kWh battery — a 7 kWh improvement over the car’s current 75 kWh pack. In reality, this means that Tesla can now squeeze 353 miles of range out of its Long Range Model 3, a nice 31-mile increase over the current (2020) version. This news isn’t entirely unexpected.…
