Germany wants to permit driverless cars across the country by 2022


Despite coming down hard on Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving, Germany isn’t totally against the concept of self-driving cars. Sure, Tesla’s Autopilot isn’t actually a self-driving system, but it is considered a large part of the autonomous or partially automated vehicle landscape. According to a report from local news outlet, The Local DE, some of Germany’s politicians, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, met this week and have agreed that the country should play a “pioneering role” in the regulation of self-driving cars.
