Samsung's move to beat iPhone's camera or compete with Xiaomi and Huawei?

Bloomberg has just reported that according to people familiar with the South Korean tech giant's plan, the upcoming Galaxy 11 will sport a massive 108MP primary camera to break the camera-tie against the iPhone 11 Pro.

At DxOMark, the independent camera benchmark experts, both Samsung and Apple are statistically tied with a score of 117 points for the number 3/4 rank in the world.

It is the same 108MP Samsung HMX sensor found on the likes of Xiaomi Mi Note 10, 10Pro, and Alpha with pixel binning technology that outputs 27MP photos.

If Samsung will use its own 108MP sensor, there's a chance that it could top Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (also known as CC9 pro) with a total score of 121 points. CC9 Pro is tied for the number 1 spot with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.

Bloomberg added that apart from the big primary sensor, the S11 will also sport an ultra-wide camera and a 5x optical zoom sensor. It will also have the ToF (Time of Flight) sensor found on the Galaxy Note 10+.

Early rumors also say that the phone will feature a punch-hole curve screen, rectangular camera bump at the back, SD865 or Exynos 990 chip, fast-charging support, and 5G connectivity.

To recall, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 in late February of 2019. We could be looking at the same timetable for the S11.

Stay tuned for more info!
