5G version of K30

Redmi's parent company Xiaomi announced on its website that the K30 5G is coming on January 7, 2020.

Redmi K30 5G will feature the Snapdragon 765G 5G chip with a built-in 5G chip with SA/NSA support.

Other than that, the rest of the specs should be similar. We expect it to feature the same impressive 64MP quad-camera setup highlighting the new 64MP f/1.89 Sony IMX686 1/1.7-inch sensor, 6.67-inch FHD+ 20:9 120Hz screen with dual punch-hole selfie cam, side-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm headphone jack slot, and 1217 Linear Speaker.

According to Xiaomi's website, it will start with the 6GB/64GB version for CNY 1,999 (around PHP 14.5K). The 8GB/256GB version cost CNY 2,899 (around PHP 21K).

That's impressive for a phone with a next-generation connectivity option.

How the tech industry is failing people with disabilities and chronic illnesses

30 percent of people under the age of 65 have a chronic health condition. Despite this prevalence, people with chronic illnesses or disabilities often face discrimination. Over a third of disabled people have experienced negative bias in their current job. The unemployment rate is twice as high for people with disabilities, compared to the general population, even though companies which are inclusive of people with disabilities are more financially successful. People with disabilities earn significantly less than non-disabled people with the same education level. While there is a dearth of data specific to the tech industry (major tech companies gave evasive, off-the-record answers when asked by a disabled reporter why…

Apart from the teaser and January 6 launch date, realme Vietnam hasn't many details about the phone. But the website of Vietnamese retailer FPTShop showed its design and key specs.

Basically, realme 5i is very similar to the realme 5, except for new colorways and the selfie camera. From 13MP, it is down to just 8MP. But that's understandable since the "i" version of realme phones are usually more affordable than the vanilla phone.

A listing on Geekbench also showed its Geekbench benchmark scores and it will have a 4GB RAM variant.

To recall, realme 5 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with Gorilla Glass 3+ protection, up to 4GB RAM, up to 128GB expandable storage, 5,000mAh battery, 12MP quad-cam at the back, fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, and Android Pie OS with ColorOS 6.0 skin out of the box.

Since it will launch in Vietnam, a neighboring country, we won't be surprised if it will go official in the Philippines as well.

How about you guys?
