OPPO continues to create interesting solutions to provide its customers with the much coveted full-screen display smartphone experience. China National Intellectual Property Administration or CNIPA recently listed publicly a new patent by OPPO that reveals the latest solution.
The company may have plans of mounting the front and rear camera modules on the side with the front-facing camera being hidden with a pop-up mechanism.
Images from the public filing indicate that the pop-up camera mechanism is near the rear camera module. Beside it could be the power button while on the opposite side could be the volume rocker button.
At the bottom of the device are the USB Type-C Port, speaker grills and the SIM card tray.
Patent filings do not necessarily confirm an upcoming product is on the way. Companies don't always turn patents into real world products but it is nice to see that a company is exploring other possibilities.
