Samsung Galaxy A71 PH pre-orders begin on Feb 5

Samsung fans in the Philippines are now one step closer to owning their very own Samsung Galaxy A71 as the brand officially announces the much-awaited smartphone's start of pre-order.

Pre-orders for the newest iteration of the Samsung Galaxy A series begins on February 5 and ends on February 14, 2020.


Customers can preorder the A71 from a participating store or through online platforms Abenson, Argomall, Lazada, MX MemoXpress, and Shopee. Those ordering through online channels must pay the amount in full, while those who make pre-orders at physical stores can pay a downpayment of PHP 500.


Those who make a downpayment must pay the remaining balance before they can claim their Samsung Galaxy A71 starting Feb 15 to March 15, 2020.


Customers who pre-ordered the device are entitled to either a free JBL Clip 3 speaker worth PHP 3,499 or store voucher amounting to PHP 2,000. Both options are bundled with 2 months worth of YouTube Premium and Youtube Music worth PHP 570. The store voucher option is not available for those who purchase via the aforementioned online channels.


The Samsung Galaxy A71 can also be availed through 0% credit card and 0% Home Credit instalments, as well as a trade-in, trade-up with up to PHP 4,000 additional token.


Pre-order units are limited per store while available colors are prism crush black, prism crush blue, and prism crush silver. 


The Samsung Galaxy A71 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus display with an under-screen fingerprint scanner, 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM expandable up to 512GB with memory card slot, a quadruple-camera setup with a 64MP main sensor, 8nm Snapdragon 730G octa-core chipset, 4,500 mAh battery, and more.

Philippine VIP customers can now pre-order the upcoming Samsung Galaxy devices as VIP pre-order page goes live!

Samsung Philippines VIP Pre-order page is now live. VIP customers can now request for a 4-digit pin that will be sent to their registered Samsung Account e-mail address. They can then log-in with their registered Samsung account with the 4-digit pin.



Customers are then given the option to pick between three choices: option A, B and C. Above option A is a diagonally positioned square that could be teasing the alleged clamshell foldable phone that is rumored to be called the 'Galaxy Flip Z' while option B and C could be the alleged new camera module on the rumored Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra.




There are no details given about pre-order bonuses.

As details are scarce until the official announcement on February 12, please take this information with a grain of salt.

India finally commits to quantum computing, promises $1.12B investment


The Indian government said today it plans to invest ₹8000 crores ($1.12 billion) in quantum computing research over five years. The country’s finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, said the scheme will boost the research for technology under the National Mission of Quantum Technology and Application project. India’s investment comes quite late as plenty of nations have already allotted grants for research in the area. In 2016, the European Commission announced €1-billion ($1.13 billion) funding for quantum computing projects. In 2018, US President Donald Trump signed a bill that promised investment of $1.2 billion in the area.
