A device dubbed as the Xiaomi Merlin is believed to be the Redmi Note 9. It uses the MT6769V/CZ which is suspected to be a modified MediaTek Helio G70 octa-core processor. To recall, G70 is one of the most capable budget gaming chips with 2x Cortex-A75 cores and 6x Cortex-A55 cores. It also has the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

Using a device with 6GB RAM, the device got a Single-Core Score of 345 and a Multi-Core Score of 1247. It is similar to the score of the realme C3 that we recently reviewed.

Next is the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Geekbench revealed that earlier leaks and rumors are correct as it'll be powered by the 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chip.

Versus the Snapdragon 730G with 2x 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores (Kryo 470 Gold), the Snapdragon 720G comes with higher clocked 2x 2.3GHz Cortex-A76 cores (Kryo 465 Gold). SD720G also has Hexagon 692 DSP and Bluetooth 5.1 which is higher than SD730G.

The Note 9 Pro with 6GB RAM achieved a Single-Core Score of 569 and a Multi-Core Score of 1755.

Given those chips, the upcoming Redmi phones should be more than capable for their respective price points.

But someone has apparently made just such a thing, and, bizarre controls aside, it’s actually kind of fun. The game in question is called “Super Bernie World,” and, as the name suggests, it plumps for Bernie Sanders pretty heavily.
