You can easily Google Play on new Huawei smartphones using this method

Caught amid the ongoing China-US trade war, Google was forced to not pre-load Huawei devices with its Mobile Services.

It prevented the world's second-largest smartphone brand from using a few apps like Gmail, Maps, and Chrome, along with the Play Store right off the bat.

But, it isn't the end of the world for Huawei. In fact, the company strived and made it possible to easily install apps on its new phones without GMS (Google Mobile Services) like the Mate 30 series and new affordable phones such the Nova 7i and Y7p.

How? Huawei developed its own Mobile Services and the AppGallery. In a short period of time since its introduction, the AppGallery has evolved into the world's 3rd largest app store. Now, it even has local apps.

If there are apps that are not available in the AppGallery, you can try to use the Huawei browser and search for the APK (Android Package Kit) of the app you desire. If it is still not there, you can try to download APKPure, another app market.

Easy way to install Google on new Huawei devices

But, if you are really fond of Google and you do not want to go through the old sideloading process, there is a new way to install the Google Play app store on your Huawei device.
We used the Chat Partner app method

All you need to do is download the Chat Partner app (147MB big) by clicking this link and install it on your phone. After that, run the Chat Partner app (no need to login), tap Detect Device, then press Repair Now, and tap Activate when the Device Administrator window pops-up.

This method will install Google Play. After installing Google Play, just restart your device.

Smart expands list of free government sites amid virus outbreak

Amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, Pangilinan-led Smart Communications has boosted its service of providing free data access to government websites, allowing Filipinos to be updated about relevant news.

Smart extends the list of free government sites

The service, which began last March 11, has enabled Smart, Sun, and TNT subscribers to access the official websites of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Philippine Information Agency for free using their smartphones.

The said websites are vital as they deliver official information and updates on the number and locations of persons under investigation (PUI), as well as advisories on what to do and how to stay protected.

The key to dealing with this situation is having the right information at all times. By providing free access to these sites, we empower the public by helping them get information that will enable them to protect themselves, their families, and communities, said PLDT-Smart public affairs head Ramon R. Isberto.

The PLDT's wireless arm already offered free access to the websites of the Department of Health, especially its COVID-19 tracker, and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology

Aside from free access to relevant government websites, subscribers can also make a call without being charged to the 911 emergency hotline and 8888 citizens' complaint center.

Apple to Close All Retail Stores Outside of China Until March 27th

Apple today announced that it is closing all of its retail locations outside of Greater China until March 27 due to the continuing spread of the coronavirus, which means Apple Stores worldwide will be shuttered for the next two weeks.

In a letter letting customers know about the store closures, Tim Cook says that China has taught us that the most effective way to minimize the risk of the coronavirus's transmission is to reduce density and maximize social distance, which is why ‌Apple Stores‌ are closing. Apple had already closed all of its stores in Italy and Spain, but stores in other countries like the United States have remained open until now.

Apple plans to continue to pay its hourly workers during the store closures and has expanded leave policies to accommodate personal or family health circumstances created by COVID-19, including recovering from an illness, caring for a sick loved one, mandatory quarantining, or childcare challenges.

I have a gift card with $20.50 left on it and when I try to purchase vip it tells me to try a different method or get support. It’s a visa gift card so it should allow me. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a gift card or not.
