Huawei's warranty policy will be extended due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Huawei will extend the warranty period for all its products for those customers whose device warranty expires during the period of March 15 to May 31, 2020.

There will be an upgrade in their system this March pertaining to the said warranty extension. For those who want to check the validity of their smartphone's warranty, the Hi-Care app can show it. Just enter the SE number of your device.

The coverage of this extension entails smartphones, PCs, tablets, wearables, smart home appliances, and others.

Aside from that, the notice includes that the customer service is still available even during these times of crisis.

They are said to be operating every day, even during public holidays. You can reach their agents/advisors if you have issues or inquiries thru email, live chat, hotline, and Facebook.

Along with the Nokia 8.3 and the new 5310 Xpress Music 2020, HMD Global also announced the Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 5.3.

Nokia 1.3 is an Android 10 (Go edition)-powered budget smartphone equipped with a 5.7-inch 19:9 HD+ display, 1.3GHz 28nm Snapdragon 215 quad-core processor with Adreno 308 GPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage up to 400GB via microSD, 3,000mAh battery with micro USB 5W charging, 8MP main camera with LED flash, 5MP selfie camera,  Google Assistant key, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and dual SIM slots.

It measures at 147.3 x 71.2 x 9.35 mm and weighs 155 grams.

On the other hand, Nokia 5.3 comes in Cyan, Sand, and Charcoal colorways behind. The Nokia 1.3 is priced at EUR 99 (around PHP 5.4K) and will be available by early April.

Xpress Music is back: Nokia 5310 with stereo speakers announced!

Along with the Nokia 8.3 and other smartphones, HMD Global announced the 2020 version of the iconic Nokia 5310 Xpress Music feature phone.

The handset highlights a classic design with a new sleeker build in White with Red and Black with Red colors. The main feature of the device is the loud dual front-facing speakers  (stereo) for your audio listening satisfaction.

The device features a 2.4-inch QVGA 320 x 240 resolution screen, MT6260A processor, 8MB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD, and 1,200mAh battery (micro USB charging) with up to 7.5 hours talk time, 22 days standby time (dual SIM), 30 days standby time (single SIM).

While it is not a smartphone, it will still support services like Spotify.

The device also has VGA camera with LED flash, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 2G connectivity, Bluetooth 3.9, and Series 30+ OS.

It measures 123.7 x 52.4 x 13.1 mm and weighs 88.2 grams.

The new Nokia 5310 is priced at just EUR 39 or around PHP 2.1K out of straight conversion.

Let's hope that Nokia will introduce it in the Philippines as well.

Nokia 8.3 5G with 6.81-inch 120Hz screen and 64MP ZEISS cam now official

HMD Global has just announced the Nokia 8.3 5G, the company's first mid-range handset with the next-gen connectivity.

The handset boasts a 3D curved glass back in Polar Night color with circular camera placement, 6.81-inch FHD+ 20:9 LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate, 7nm EUV Snapdragon 765G chipset with a max clock speed of 2.4GHz, Adreno 620 GPU, 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage, expandable memory with microSD, and 4,500mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging.

For cameras, it sports a 64MP ZEISS primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle secondary camera, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor at the back. In front, there's a 24MP shooter.

The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, OZO audio, 3.5mm headphone slot,  FM Radio receiver, dual-band WiFi, 5G (NSA/SA), 4G LTE, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and dual SIM slots. There is a single SIM version again.

The device runs with Android 10 OS out of the box. It measures at 171.9 x 78.56 x 8.99 mm.

Price starts at EUR 599 (around PHP 32.7K) for the 6GB/64GB version. The 8GB/128GB edition will retail for EUR 649 (around PHP 35.4K).

The phone will be available this summer. There's no word yet if it'll reach the Philippine shores.
