Help prevent COVID-19 with TradeSocialPH

The mobile app is designed and developed to support existing national efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 via social distancing. TradeSocialPH uses Bluetooth signals to determine and estimate the number of people within 2 to 5 meters from you.

Your privacy is safe with the app as it does not collect any data from you such as location, phone numbers, and other information. It does not store any data about phones near you as well. In addition, it does not need an internet connection as well as GPS to work. All it needs is Bluetooth and you are good to go.

The next step for the app is an official way of Contact Tracing to trace people possibly exposed to the COVID-19. However,  this will need to be collaborated with the health department to make it official and to make data collection legitimate.

You can download the app for FREE on Google Play Store for Android. It is coming to iOS devices soon as well.

Baguio is the first city in the country to use Huawei's COVID-19 screening tool

Mayor Benjamin Magalong speaks with DZMM Teleradyo's Gerry Baja about COVID-19 screening alternatives such as Huawei's AI-powered COVID-19 CT scan that you can read more about at this link.

It was developed by the Huazon University of Science and Technology and by Lanwon Technology with Huawei Cloud developed AI-assisted quantitative medical imaging analysis service specifically for COVID-19 that offers 98 percent accuracy with results released in just 2 minutes.

Three people who were under investigation for possible COVID-19 infection participated in the initial testing with Huawei's diagnostic tool. The three tested negative from Huawei's tool and are scheduled to be validated by the tests kit from the Department of Health. These tests kit reveal the result 4-6 days after which takes too long compared to Huawei's solution.

Currently, Baguio has one confirmed case from a 55-year old woman with five others who tested "highly probable" from Huawei's COVID-19 CT scan that is currently waiting for the Department of Health's confirmatory test.

Samsung has announced that it’ll soon roll out a new update for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series. The new update will bring camera features from the Galaxy S20 series to the two older Samsung flagships.

To start, both the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 will get the S20’s Single Take mode. The mode allows users to capture multiple photos, videos, and GIFs with a single button push. It’s useful for times when you can’t decide if you want to click a picture or record a video. The mode ensures you don’t have to choose and gives you multiple options to play with all at once.

Other features headed to the S10 and Note 10 series include the new Night Hyperlapse mode, the ability to create custom photo filters, and a Pro Video mode which lets users adjust settings like ISO, shutter speed, and exposure levels.

The Gallery app is also getting a new feature called Clean View. It automatically groups together similar shots of the same subject for better organization of images. Apart from this, the Gallery app on the S10 and Note 10 phones will get a Quick Crop feature which allows users to zoom into an image and quickly save a cropped version.

Additionally, both 2019 Galaxy flagships will get Quick Share and Music Share features. This allows users to share files with other nearby users and extend their paired Bluetooth connections while playing music respectively.

Samsung says the new update will roll out in March. The release date and update feature list may vary by market, carrier, and model. Some of the new features like Night Hyperlapse will not be coming to the Note 10 Lite.

Your startup’s culture should revolve around quality-focused product development

Launching a high-quality product that clients would love has never been more important. When it comes to quality assurance, tech companies can no longer rely solely on QA teams to simply cover the maximum percentage of scenarios.  Previously, quality was thought of something that QA engineers would take care of. Quality and user focus didn’t used to be a shared responsibility. Now, what experience shows is that this model can be one of the key reasons for cross-department conflicts leading to a product that fails user experience.  Today, companies that rely on this old mantra are likely to find themselves…
