While the feature was baked into a new set of parental controls and is ostensibly to stop kids from accessing content meant for grown-up persons, I know the real reason: to stop people from messing up your recommendations. Google will require seamless updates on devices launching with Android 11

Companies like Samsung have less than a year to get their act together

According to a change recently made to Google's Vendor Test Suite (VTS) spotted by our friends at XDA Developers, Google will require that all devices launching with Android 11 support seamless updates. More specifically, the VTS will check that devices running Android 11 and later support virtual A/B partition structures (which allow seamless updates), and fail if that support isn't present. Since devices must pass the VTS to ship with Google's apps, that effectively means that Android manufacturers will have to support seamless updates on devices that launch with Android 11 and later.

Psychedelic mushrooms could affect the brain long after its active ingredient leaves the system

New research shows that the active ingredient in hallucinogenic mushrooms, called psilocybin, could affect the brain long after it has left the user’s system. To date, most studies of this type focused on the acute effects of psilocybin — or how the brain functioned while under the influence of the drug. OnePlus 6 and 6T get Open Beta 6 with March security patches and a few bug fixes

OnePlus 6 and 6T owners that are running the OxygenOS Open Betas just snagged a new update. The changelog this time around is quite light, delivering last month's (March 2020) security patches, and a mere three fixes.

The full changelog is just below:

• Now unlock the LockBox without any problems in File Manager
• No more crashes in the Launcher with apps in full-screen display
• Got rid of blank screens while clearing up the background apps
• Updated Android Security Patch to 2020.03
