Globe Telecom dismissed claims that telco services in the country would "crash" as internet usage continues to increase amid the enhanced community quarantine imposed on Luzon.

While it is true that demand for data has been growing as companies have embraced the work-from-home scheme, the telco firm belied the said rumors circulating in chat groups. 

According to its post on Facebook, Globe stressed the reporters were "untrue" and "fake news".

We wish to assure our customers that while internet services are in high demand, Globe is taking all steps to ensure that the network is fully operational and healthy, Globe said.

The Ayala-led firm also noted the group is working hard to ensure that its network can handle the demand. 

Although our network is healthy, we also encourage our customers to use the internet responsibly, it added.

The latest release packs a new gesture navigation for the tablet mode and adds picture-in-picture support for Android apps. Vivo announces warranty extension on its smartphones

In light of the ongoing enhanced community quarantine to fight COVID-19,  Vivo just announced that it is providing a FREE warranty extension on its smartphones nationwide.

Vivo said that the warranty extension will cover Vivo handsets with warranties expiring from March 16 to March 30, 2020.

Tentatively, the extension will be until May 31, 2020. Dates may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Apart from the warranty extension, Vivo Philippines is also helping in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).


Recently, the Chinese brand donated thousands of surgical masks to protect the frontliners who are combatting the disease. Vivo has also distributed handwritten letters of gratitude and encouragement to boost the morale of the frontliners and give hope to some COVID-19 patients.

The specifications of the new device are scarce, but officially it carries a 6.5-inch FHD+ Infinity-O display.

Under the hood, it has an undisclosed processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage. (expandable via microSD). Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W Adaptive Fast charging.

At the back of the device is a 16MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth camera. On the punch-hole is a 13MP selfie camera.

It is priced at USD 249.99 or around PHP 12.6K without taxes, duties or shipping.

The processor of the Galaxy A21 is yet to be confirmed but there is a Geekbench score listing reveals that allegedly the Galaxy A21 will allegedly have the Exynos 850 under the hood and will be running on Android 10.
