BMW is reportedly working on a 1,000HP all-electric M5 that’ll rival Tesla’s Plaid Model S
In most parts of the world, carmakers are under pressure to find more environmentally ways of powering their vehicles. This is leading many to kill off iconic combustion engine vehicles. BMW isn’t letting that get in the way of business though. The company is allegedly working on an all-electric M5 that’ll hit the roads in the next five years. According to a report from CAR magazine, BMW’s 2024 M5 will have a spec sheet to rival the Tesla Model S, or any other high-performance sedan for that matter. Xiaomi reveals Mi Band 5 launch date
- Xiaomi will launch the Mi Band 5 in China on June 11.
- It could soon launch globally as Mi Smart Band 5.
- Keeping with last year, the India launch could happen later in the year.
Xiaomi’s Mi Bands are extremely popular for being the cheap, feature-filled wearables that they are. The newest member in the series — the Mi Band 5 — has been anticipated for a while now and thanks to various rumors and leaks, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from it. Now, we also know its launch date.
Xiaomi has announced that the new Mi Band will go official on June 11 in China. Coincidentally, Xiaomi is also launching a Mi Notebook in India on the same date.
The Chinese launch of the Mi Band 5 is pretty much in line with that of the Mi Band 4 last year. Keeping that in mind, we can expect the new fitness tracker to have a similar launch timeframe for global markets as well. Last year, the Mi Band 4 launched globally just days after its China reveal. So it’s quite possible the Mi Band 5 will also release in UK and Europe soon after its June 11 unveiling.
It’s also likely that Xiaomi will rebrand the global version of the Mi Band 5 to Mi Smart Band 5, as was the case last year. It’s rumored that this international variant will lack NFC support for payments.
In the US though, consumers interested in buying the Mi Band 5 will most likely have to import the international model from Amazon. Meanwhile, Indian users might have to wait longer to get their hands on it. Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi Band 4 in India in September and the company could very well have similar timelines this time around.
So what’s new with the upcoming Mi Band? The biggest physical change seems to be a larger 1.2-inch display compared to the Mi Band 4’s 0.95-inch screen. The band could also get some new features, such as new watch faces, a camera shutter key, blood oxygen level tracking, new exercise modes, and more. Looking for more details? Then check out all the Mi Band 5 rumors at the previous link.

After Trump, Twitter hides Rep. Matt Gaetz’s tweet for glorifying violence
Last week, Twitter hid US President Donald Trump’s tweet over threatening Minnesota protestors with military action. The social network has taken similar action to Rep. Matt Gaetz’s tweet that classified “Antifa as terrorists” and asked to “hunt them down like we do those in the Middle East” Several politicians and policy advocates asked the company to take the tweet down immediately. Before Twitter marked the tweet, it was retweeted over 12,000 times. Just like Trump’s tweet, this tweet hasn’t been removed from the platform because of its newsworthiness. In a statement, a Twitter spokesperson said the tweet was in violation of the…

Samsung’s latest chipset might be the most power-efficient of 2020
- Samsung has quietly revealed more details about its Exynos 850 chipset.
- The processor is built on an 8nm design and features eight Cortex-A55 CPU cores.
- These design choices mean it could be the most power-efficient SoC of 2020.
Samsung announced the Galaxy A21s last month, packing a big battery and quad rear cameras for ~$180. But the phone also serves up an Exynos 850 processor, and the brand has now listed the chipset on its website.
The Exynos 850 listing (spotted by SamMobile) reveals that we’re looking at quite possibly the most power-efficient processor of 2020. For one, the SoC is built on an 8nm manufacturing process.
Now, 7nm and 8nm designs have been seen before, as Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Huawei all have flagship and upper-mid range 7nm processors. But this marks the first time we see an 8nm chipset in the budget space, with the Exynos 850 landing in sub-$200 devices.
What else does the Exynos 850 offer?
Furthermore, Samsung’s new SoC also packs an octacore CPU featuring lightweight Cortex-A55 cores only (clocked at 2Ghz). This marks the first time we see an octacore Cortex-A55 CPU from a globally relevant chipmaker.
The combination of an 8nm design and Cortex-A55 CPU cores only means we can therefore expect the Exynos 850 to be the most power-efficient processor of 2020 in theory. So a phone with this SoC might not need the biggest battery to offer long endurance and plenty of screen-on time. But the Galaxy A21s is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, which means two or three day battery life could be within reach.
Other noteworthy specs include a Mali-G52 GPU, FHD+ display support, 1080p/60fps video recording, eMMC 5.1 support, and Wi-Fi 5/Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The Exynos 850 also supports dual 16MP/5MP cameras, and 21.7MP single shooters on the front or rear. But it’s worth noting that the Galaxy A21s has a 48MP main camera anyway.
In any event, we’re looking forward to seeing more low-end phones with this processor. Sure, it lacks power on paper and you won’t want it if you play games, but it definitely seems like a successor of sorts to 2016’s similarly frugal Snapdragon 625.

WWE Network now has a free tier: Here’s what you can watch
The pro wrestling organization World Wrestling Entertainment has a streaming service called WWE Network that gives fans access to its content. Now, WWE has launched a completely free tier of that service, with lots of shows available to stream. Here are all the details on the WWE Network free version.
How do I get WWE Network for free?
In order to access the free WWE content, all you have to do is create a free WWE Network account. You don’t need to type in any credit or debit card info. Once you sign up, you can start streaming the free content on any of its supported platforms. The free tier is separate from the usual 30-day WWE Network free trial that is offered to new subscribers.
All you need to do after that is head to the WWE Network website or download the app. You can get the Android version from the Google Play Store here and the iOS version here.
What’s available to watch on WWE for free?
WWE fans will be able to stream recent episodes of the network’s three main TV shows, which are Monday Night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown, and NXT.
There are other shows available to stream for free as well. That includes documentaries like The Monday Night War and shows including Ride Along, Table for 3, Photo Shoot, and Story Time. A number of select older WWE pay-per-view events are also available to stream, along with some previous NXT TakeOver events. Weekly highlight shows like Top 10, WWE’s The Bump, WWE Now, The Best of WWE, and WWE Timeline are also available to stream, as are episodes of the WWE’s reality shows including Total Bellas and Miz and Mrs.
Finally, WWE Network’s free tier will have its own original shows. It will start with Raw Talk, a talk show that will be available for streaming every Monday night after the completion of Monday Night Raw.
Perhaps best of all, the WWE free tier will also be ad-free. That’s right, no annoying commercials to deal with while you watch your favorite shows and events.
Can I still sign up for the 30-day free trial?
Yes, you can. In fact, the 30-day free trial that lets you stream all the content the WWE Network has on offer is the only way you can watch upcoming WWE pay-per-view events live. Of course, you can cancel your subscription at any time before the free trial ends. After that, it will cost $9.99 a month.
