Looking to solidify its AIoT portfolio, realme recently introduced the realme Watch, a feature-rich wearable on a budget.
Meet realme Watch |
On paper, realme Watch could be for those who are looking to upgrade their basic fitness bands to a fitness smartwatch with a bigger and clearer display and more functions.
Since we have the item, let's start with part 1 of our review—unboxing and first impressions.
Unboxing/Accessories
The box |
The realme Watch features the company's signature bright-yellow box in a long-form factor.
Unboxed |
Inside, it is straightforward. You'll get the watch itself, charging cradle with cable and USB-A port, and the paper documentations. Unlike its smartphones, the display of the watch doesn't come with a pre-installed screen protector.
Build Quality/Design
Back view with its sensors |
Similar to most budget wearables, the realme Watch uses an all-plastic body. This one just feels a little bit more premium due to its glossy sides and the 2.5D curved glass-like display.
Nice strap material |
While the material used on its body feels just like a regular budget watch, it comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance which will allow it to survive up to 1.5-meter water submersion for about 30 minutes. That's so much better than the usual splash or sweat resistance
Good design, comfortable to wear, legit water resistance!
The strap is made out of a skin-friendly silicone material. It feels comfortable to wear and it doesn't stain easily.
In case you are wondering, the straps are removable and it is easy to remove.
Apple Watch-like look |
Looking at its design, I would be lying if I say that it didn't remind me of the Apple Watch. The form factor is similar from afar. But obviously, the realme Watch is a budget device so it won't still look as good as the Apple Watch.
What I like about it is it has a bigger display than most budget watches. In particular, it uses a 1.4-inch 2.5D curved color touchscreen with a crisp 320 x 320 resolution. Also, I would like to note that it has really good colors and a strong brightness level that makes it viewable under direct sunlight hit.
Could fit most wrists |
The watch itself is not big. It is just 20mm in width. It is also quite slim at 11.8 mm. The strap has an adjustable length between 164 to 208mm, so it will fit most wrists.
Power key at the right |
At right it has a single button to power up the device that can also be used as a back key.

As of the moment
One solid product after another. While we are still in its testing phase, the realme watch impressed us with its strap design and big display. This device also has IP68 water resistance that should help the watch endure sweat from rigorous workouts and even while taking showers.
So far, it is also very easy to use and it has Personalized Watch Faces, Smart Notifications, Smart Control Center, and more.
It also comes with plenty of fitness-related features like the Real-time Heart Rate Monitor, Intelligent Activity Tracker, Blood-oxygen Level Monitor, 14 Sports Mode, Drinking reminder, and more.
We are just waiting for its official SRP. Stay tuned for our full report and review this July 9.
