Redmi 9 with MediaTek Helio G70 is allegedly in the works, to launch in early 2020

The Redmi 8 is still pretty new, but allegedly, Xiaomi will launch its successor pretty soon.

Redmi 9 is coming soon?

A new rumor claims that the Redmi 9 will be unveiled early next year. In addition, the report stated that it will be powered by an unannounced MediaTek chipset, the Helio G70.

The details of the chip are still unknown for now, but it should sit below the Helio G90T of the Redmi Note 8. But it is safe to assume that it has better performance than the current Snapdragon 439 of the Redmi 8.

Other rumored specs include a 6.6-inch notch screen, at least 4GB RAM, and at least 64GB storage.

Personally, I also expect it to feature a large 5,000mAh battery like the Redmi 8. It should also run with Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 skin.

If this rumor is true, we should know more about the device in the coming weeks.
