MediaTek Helio G70 with Cortex-A75 cores now official
Aimed towards more affordable gaming smartphones, the Helio G70 is an octa-core chipset made out of 2x Cortex-A75 2.0GHz power cores and 6x Cortex-A55 1.7Hz efficiency cores.
It is paired with ARM Mali-G62 820Mhz GPU and has support for up to 8GB LPDDR4X memory. It is controlled by MediaTek's CorePilot tech for consistent and reliable gaming.
It supports up to FHD+ 2520 x 1080 resolution screens.
For AI, it has MediaTek's NeuroPilot support and full compliance with Android Neural Networks API to support many common AI frameworks. MediaTek claimed that its AI is ideal for object recognition, scene detection, background removal, and bokeh-shot enhancements.
It also has a VoW (voice on wakeup) capability to optimize platform size and minimizes power use for voice assistant services.
The chip also highlights a Secure ISP with large single or dual-camera support (48MP or 16MP + 16MP). It can record up to 2K 30fps or 1080p 60fps videos.
It also has a dedicated depth engine, Camera Control Unit. Electronic Image Stabilization, and Rolling Shutter Compensation to enhance video panning and allow users to record up to 240fps slow-mo videos.
Secure ISP means that it has ultra-fast and highly accurate face unlock tech.
The chip is complete with WiFi 5, dual 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, and GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo).
There's no word yet when will it be available on smartphones, but there are rumors that it might come with the Redmi 9.
