Update, February 6, 2020 (12:55AM ET): Realme is now teasing a full-blown launch event for MWC 2020. The latest teaser was posted on Realme Europe’s Twitter account and the company is calling it their “1st global launch.”

As you can see, the image posted alongside the tweet has some location coordinates in it. Putting them in Google Maps points to a place called Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, the venue for MWC each year.

It seems like Realme could also announce a smartphone at MWC, besides the TV launch mentioned in the original article below. Since the company is stressing on this being its first global launch, there could be a flagship Realme phone on its way.

Realme’s event is also listed on the official MWC Barcelona website. According to the official listing, the launch will take place on February 24 at 10AM local time (4AM ET).

The description of the event mentions that the company will bring “new 5G phones with power and style to global users.” Given this, we could expect Realme to launch a Snapdragon 865-powered 5G flagship since the company already promised one back in December. In addition to the Snapdragon 865 phone, it’s also possible we might see a global launch for the Realme X50 5G, which previously launched in China last month.

Original article, February 3, 2020 (9 PM ET): Realme has been releasing a steady stream of highly-regarded smartphones (and some mobile accessories) for just under two years now. It appears the company is ready to expand its portfolio significantly in 2020, and a Realme TV could be one of the first new products we see (via GizmoChina).

Francis Wang, the CMO of Realme Mobiles, posted to Twitter hinting that a Realme TV is in the works and will likely launch at Mobile World Congress 2020. Although he doesn’t come out and directly say it, we’re pretty confident that’s what he means in the tweet.

See for yourself below:

Realme is a sub-brand of BBK, which also oversees Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus. The OnePlus TV landed in 2019, so it’s possible the Realme TV will take some inspiration from the design and features of that device.

Since Realme focuses predominantly on the Indian market and Wang includes a “#realmeForEveryIndian” hashtag, it’s a good bet that this Realme TV, if it does exist, will be mostly focused on Indian consumers.

Outside of the Realme TV, we also expect the company to launch fitness bands and possibly even a smartwatch at some point this year.
