Looks like Samsung is not the only one to jump the gun when it comes to revealing its new phones before launch. Realme also has a Snapdragon 865 contender in the flagship race this year and thanks to the company’s CMO, Xu Qi Chase and a press release, we now know a bit more about it.
The Realme executive posted a screenshot of the ‘About Phone’ section of the device on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The image clearly reveals that the phone is called the Realme X50 Pro 5G, a successor to the X50 5G. It also details a few of its specs.
Most text in the image is in Chinese, but translations reveal that the Realme X50 Pro 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Realme later confirmed the X50 Pro 5G name in a press release to Android Authority, as well as the presence of the top-end flagship chipset.
Otherwise, the above screenshot also shows that the phone comes with Realme UI atop Android 10, 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage. It is highly likely that there are other configurations that Realme is yet to announce. The last bit of detail that the screenshot shows is support for two SIM cards. However, we’re not sure if the phone has a dedicated microSD card slot or not.
When is the Realme X50 Pro 5G launching you ask? Well, the company’s aforementioned press release notes that it will be coming at MWC 2020. Realme is also expected to unveil its first TV at the event. Let’s wait to see what else the company has in store.
