A Chinese smartphone-maker beat Samsung to the punch by revealing the first Snapdragon 865 phone in the world. It’s ZTE and the company has officially announced the ZTE Axon 10s Pro.
The design (and most specs) of the ZTE Axon 10s Pro haven’t changed much in comparison to last year’s Axon 10 Pro. It packs the same 6.47-inch AMOLED curved display with a 1080p resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen sports an in-display fingerprint sensor and comes with the familiar water-drop notch.
The camera setup on the phone also remains unchanged. It gets a standard 48MP main sensor for 12MP pixel-binned images. A 20MP wide-angle lens (125 degrees) and an 8MP telephoto lens complete the triple rear camera array on the new Axon 10s Pro. Up front is a 20MP selfie shooter.
The biggest change under the hood is, of course, the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The 2019 Axon 10 Pro carried the Snapdragon 855 silicon and ZTE has just basically swapped it out for the 865. Obviously that means an overall performance boost, an upgraded GPU, and 5G as well as 4G connectivity.
It also gets Wi-Fi 6 support and features Link-Booster tech that can seamlessly switch between Wi-Fi, LTE or 5G networks to enhance connectivity.
The Axon 10s Pro tops out at 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM paired with 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It also has a 6GB/128GB variant.
A 4,000mAh battery powers the package with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0.
ZTE Axon 10s Pro price
Unfortunately, the price and official release date of the phone is yet to be announced. If it costs anywhere around the Axon 10 Pro’s $469 price tag, ZTE will have yet another well priced flagship on its hands.
