Nokia 9.2 PureView tipped to join the high refresh rate bandwagon

Nokia 9 PureView Review

The Nokia 9.2 PureView is expected to pick up where the Nokia 9 PureView left off, offering a flagship-level experience with a clean take on Android. Now, the latest leak points to improved screen technology.

Frequent Twitter tipster Nokia_anew reports that the new flagship phone will offer a 120Hz screen. There’s no word on whether it’ll be an OLED panel or an LCD screen, but in-display fingerprint sensors are only available on the former right now (although that will change).

A 120Hz refresh rate would be in line with devices like the Galaxy S20 series and OnePlus 8 Pro. Hopefully HMD beefs up the battery size to account for the power-hungry refresh rate if they’re indeed bringing this tech.

This isn’t the only claim made by Nokia_anew, as the leaker also made several camera claims. One of these is that HMD Global tested 24MP, 20MP, and 48MP camera sensors but seemingly settled on a 108MP camera.

Furthermore, the leaker alleges that an HMD executive wanted to abandon the simultaneous capture system in favor of a more traditional camera experience (specifically pointing to the Mi Note 10 Pro). The Nokia 9 PureView simultaneously took photos from all five of its cameras for better HDR and depth effects, but the phone didn’t have a telephoto or ultra-wide sensor. So we’d definitely welcome a more versatile camera setup, giving you a shooter for every occasion.

Other recent Nokia 9.2 PureView leaks include a launch in the second half of the year, an under-screen selfie camera, and a penta-camera setup with both 108MP and 64MP sensors. You can check out all the latest Nokia 9.2 rumors at the previous link.
