GizmoChina reports that Redmi is rumored to be developing a super affordable 5G smartphone equipped with either a Dimensity 800 or Dimensity 800+ SoC from MediaTek. The said smartphone is designed to be the most affordable 5G smartphone ever in China.
Today, GizmoChina follows-up on the previous report with a new unnamed phone listed on China's TENAA certification database with a model number Redmi M2004J7AC with chassis dimensions of 164.15 x 75.75 x 8.99 mm and weighs only 208 grams.
The TENAA listing reveals that it carries a 2.6GHz octa-core processor which GizmoChina speculates to be the Dimensity 800+. This Dimensity 800+ could be an overclocked version of the original Dimensity 800 announced in early 2020.
The listing also says that it will have 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB/256GB internal storage, and 4,420mAh battery. GizmoChina also reported the same Redmi M2004J7AC was also spotted in China's 3C certification platform that reveals that the battery could support a 22.5W fast charger.
In front of the device is a large 6.57-inch OLED FHD+ OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and with an in-display fingerprint scanner. On top of the display is the 16MP front-facing shooter. The back of the Redmi M2004J7AC features a square-shaped camera module with a 48MP main rear camera.
