Major brands from China are joining forces!
In August 2019, major manufacturers from China Xiaomi, Vivo and OPPO joined forces to develop a new Peer-to-Peer file transfer protocol to simplify and to improve performance cross-brand device file transfers. The aim of the alliance is to offer an Apple AirDrop like experience for the Android ecosystem that is made of multiple manufacturers that support over 20MBps of transfer speeds through a stable connection.
Recently on Weibo, OnePlus, realme, Meizu and Black Shark simultaneously posted that they have joined the P2P file transfer alliance. This means that the Apple AirDrop-like cross-brand file transfer support will arrive in the devices of these brands aside Xiaomi, Vivo and OPPO devices.
OnePlus, realme and Meizu have yet to reveal when this new feature will arrive on their devices.
