Recent reports point that the 5nm and 12nm orders of Huawei will push through. This means that the 5nm Kirin 1020 SoC will make it on the for the Mate 40 launch. The flagship Huawei Mate series usually launch in September or October annually.

But, TSMC's 7nm capacity is already full. This means TSMC might not be able to take Huawei's orders for its other 7nm chips like the Kirin 990 and 980.

According to Nikkei, Huawei
TSMC's second-largest client behind Apple which accounts for 15 percent to 20 percent of the Taiwanese company's annual revenue.
