LetGoDigital has recently discovered two Huawei patents showing a phone with similar designs with different rear camera setups. Noticeably, the images shown have no punch-hole on the screen or cut-out for a pop-up camera.

An edgeless flagship with Under-Screen Camera
This suggests that Huawei might equip these phones with the Under-Screen Camera technology.
Patent 1 |
The tech should be similar to what OPPO showed us back in December 2019. It might have a selfie camera sensor hidden under the display. The selfie camera will only activate when needed. When not in use, you will only see it on certain angles if a light source will hit it or if you will use a bright wallpaper.
Patent 2 |
Going back to the patent, the phone is completely bezel-less with edges that curve all the way to the back of the device. It is different from the Quad-Curve Overflow Display of the P40 Pro with curves on top and bottom bezels, but its side curves are even curvier than the Mate 30 Pro's Horizon waterfall screen.
The difference between the two phones is in the back camera setup. One of the patents highlights a circular quad-camera setup ala Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the other one sports a vertically-aligned triple-camera module with a periscope camera.
The phone is not completely buttonless though. It has a power key on top of the phone. But, there are no physical volume keys. Most likely, this handset has the virtual volume rocker on the side of the screen of the phones.
Let's all remember that even if there's a patent, there's no guarantee that Huawei will make these designs an actual device.
Let's wait and see.
