MediaTek Helio G25 and G35 ultra-budget gaming chips now official

MediaTek is on a roll. The Taiwanese chipmaker has just made the Helio G25 and G35 official—the gaming-focused chips for phones under USD 100.

Both the G25 and G35 are 12nm octa-core processors using the Cortex-A53 cores with up to 6G LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage support.

Helio G25 runs up to 2.0GHz with PowerVR GE8320 at 650MHz. It supports up to HD+ resolutions, up to 13MP + 8MP dual-cam or 21MP single cam.

Helio G35 is faster with better specs. It has up to 2.3GHz clock speed and a faster PowerVR GE8320 GPU at 680MHz. The display support tops FHD+.

Both have  Multi-Frame Noise Reduction, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Rolling Shutter Compensation, bokeh effect, and can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps using the H.264 codec.

The two chips also have WiFi 5 ac, 4G LTE with VoLTE and ViLTE on two connections, Bluetooth 5.0 tech, and FM Radio. The chips also use the HyperEngine tech which can switch between WiFI and 4G LTE in just 13 milliseconds to maintain fast and stable connections especially for playing games.

The first device to use the Helio G25 is the Redmi 9A. Meanwhile, realme C11 and Redmi 9C are the first two phones to load with the Helio G35.
