Huawei releases MatePad 10.8 with Kirin 990 and WiFi 6+ announced

Along with the Enjoy Tablet 2, TalkBand B6, and Children's Watch 4X, global tech giant Huawei released the MatePad 10.8 in China.

Affordable Kirin 990-powered tablet in China

Similar to what earlier rumors revealed, the new MatePad 10.8 is a powerful yet more affordable tablet. The device sports body in Champagne Gold and Silver Gray colors and a 10.8-inch IPS LCD with 2560 x 1600 resolution at 280 ppi. It also supports the Huawei M-Pencil stylus nad Huawei Keyboard and case in one.
It comes with WiFi 6+ tech

Under the hood, the device is equipped with the capable 7nm Kirin 990 chipset with Dual NPU ala MatePad Pro. It is paired with 6GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB expandable storage via microSD card, and 7,500mAh battery capacity with USB-C charging.

The tablet also has a single 13MP f/1.8 camera at the back with an LED flash.

It also boasts a fingerprint reader, quad Harman Kardon speakers on the sides with Huawei Histen 6.1 audio technology, 3.5mm headphone jack slot, and Android 10 OS with EMUI 10.1 skin out of the box.

The device is just 7.2 mm slim and weighs at around 500 grams.

Currently, MatePad 10.8 is a WiFi-only tablet. There is no word yet if Huawei will release a 4G or 5G variant of the said device.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

Huawei MatePad 10.8 6GB/64GB - CNY 2,399 (around PHP 16.9K)
Huawei MatePad 10.8 6GB/128GB - CNY 2,799 (around PHP 19.7K)

The tablet will ship this mid-August in China.
