- An internal document has reportedly revealed several unannounced Pixel devices.
- The devices include the Pixel 5a and a foldable Pixel.
- The foldable Pixel could be set for a Q4 2021 launch window.
Google has just launched the Pixel 4a this week, while also confirming that the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are coming later this year. The company might not be stopping there, as more evidence has emerged for a Pixel 5a and foldable Pixel, among other devices.
9to5Google viewed an internal Google document that contained a list of Android builds for all Pixel devices, including the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5. But the list is also said to include the Pixel 5a (purportedly code-named barbette) and three other unannounced devices.
The three other devices are code-named raven, oriole, and passport respectively, and 9to5Google says the latter device is specifically referred to as a foldable. The other two devices here are presumably Pixel 6 series phones. All three devices reportedly have a “Q4 2021” label, which would seemingly be the launch window.

This wouldn’t be the first time we heard about Google working on a foldable either, as Pixel chief Mario Queiroz confirmed last year that they were prototyping the technology. Furthermore, the Pixel 5a name also appeared in the Android Open Source Project a few days ago.
A foldable Google Pixel phone would be far more surprising than the Pixel 5a though, as it seems like budget Pixels are gaining steam. Foldable technology is arguably still in its infancy too. But between Samsung’s Flip and Fold devices and the Huawei Mate XS, it looks like the tech is definitely getting there.
So what would a foldable Pixel look like then? Well, it’s purely speculation at this point, but the passport code-name suggests something akin to the Galaxy Fold series rather than an out-folding design like the Mate XS.
