As moviegoers cannot see their favorite movies during the so-called "new normal", SM Cinema has thought of a pandemic-safe way for their customers.

Opening at SM City Pampanga Amphitheater, the "Movies at Sundown" allows guests to watch movies on the big screen while observing social distancing rules set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

It has already opened yesterday, July 31, and features the following movies: "Train to Busan 2: Peninsula" and "My Spy."

Guests will be assigned their own parking spots to be guided by traffic marshalls. Once settled, moviegoers can see the film of their choice on a 20 x 8 m screen raised three feet above the ground and will be asked to tune in to a specific frequency on their car's FM radio to broadcast the audio straight into their vehicles.

There are two-time slots to choose from starting July 31 until August 2, 2020: the 6:30PM or 8:50PM screenings. Moving forward, schedules will be every Thursday to Sundays at 6:45PM. The ticket is priced at PHP 400 per person inclusive of a FREE regular popcorn, bottled water and Beef Franks from SnackTime.

Moviegoers are advised to have two persons and a maximum of four people inside each to optimize the viewing experience.

Guests must also be between the ages 21 and 59, pursuant to the safety guidelines set by the IATF. For added safety, viewers will also be asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before showing the time, stay inside their vehicles with their masks on, and practice social distancing all throughout the duration of the movie.

Attendees are to purchase tickets in advance at www.smtickets.com as there will be no on-site ticket selling.

Would you love to try the drive-in cinema?
