Ahead of its official launch, OnLeaks together with HandsetExpert has shared exclusive renders of Huawei's upcoming flagship phone—the Mate 40.
Alleged Huawei Mate 40 |
This is the possible Huawei Mate 40!
The renders showed similarities from the Mate 30 last year with noticeable differences. The back of the phone still comes a curved back design with a circular camera hump. But, the camera hump is bigger to house a triple-camera system with large sensors and another sensor with unknown purpose yet.
The phone's front and back design |
The back also showed that at the left of the circular bump, you'll see the LED flash system of the handset.
In the front, this is where we'll find the biggest change. The notch is gone in favor of the P40-like pill-shaped dual punch-hole selfie camera. We expect it to be similar to the P40 with all the sensors needed for 3D depth sensing and more.
The screen is said to be 6.4-inch big and it is waterfall curved like the Mate 30 Pro.
The unknown holes |
On the top, the device has a number of unusual holes. They could be some sort of sensors, but we are unsure about its functions yet.
The device is said to measure at 158.6 x 72.5 x 8.9 mm.
Other details about the phone are still unknown. It is rumored to feature the latest version of Android without Google services and the alleged 5nm Kirin 1020 5G SoC.
