  • More details of the rumored Samsung Galaxy M51 have leaked.
  • The phone could sport the largest battery of any Samsung smartphone to date.
  • A 6.7-inch display with a quad-camera array at the rear is also mentioned.

After polishing off its flagship line with the Galaxy Note 20 series, Samsung is now looking at buffing its mid-range line.

According to a report by PriceBaba, the rumored Samsung Galaxy M51 could be a device to look out for if battery capacity is on your hit list.

We first caught wind of the Galaxy M51 back in March thanks to a set of leaked CAD-based renders, but these provided very little about its possible specs. Now, the latest batch of Galaxy M51 rumors shed light on key figures, chief of which is a battery that could be the largest fitted to a Samsung smartphone yet.

How big is big? How about a 7,000mAh battery.

That’s a tiny bit less than the 7,040mAh offered by Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7 — yes, a tablet — and 2,500mAh larger than the battery in the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The report also suggests the device will sport 25W charging, which is great to hear considering how long this thing would take to charge on standard 10W charging.

Copious capacities have been a hallmark of Samsung’s Galaxy M series in the past. For instance, the Galaxy M31 employs a 6,000mAh battery pack. Earlier rumors of a Galaxy M41 also suggested the phone could sport a 6,800mAh cell. That said, 7,000mAh is ambitious. It should help users spend as little time away from the wall as possible but come at the expense of a larger, heavier device.

As for other internal specs, the Galaxy M51 could feature 6GB/8GB RAM variants with 128GB of storage in tow. Additional specs listed, backed up by leaker Ishan Agarwal, includes a quad-camera array at the rear headlined by a 64MP snapper. It’s joined by a 12MP wide-angle camera, 5MP portrait snapper, and a 5MP macro sensor. There’s also a rumored 32MP punch-hole selfie camera within a 6.7-inch AMOLED display.

There’s no word on the chipset Samsung may employ, but it’s likely the phone will use Qualcomm Snapdragon silicon like the Galaxy M40.

It’s not yet clear when the Galaxy M51 will make its debut or how much the device will cost, but by using the Galaxy M40 as a benchmark, you could expect it to launch slightly above the Rs. 20,000 mark in India.
