Ahead of its official launch, known leaker Jon Prosser shared alleged screenshots of the alleged PVT (Production Validation Test) unit of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It revealed that the handset might feature a 120Hz refresh rate display and a LiDAR camera.

120Hz and LiDAR
Prosser noted that not all upcoming iPhone models will feature the 120Hz refresh rate screen so it might be exclusive for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

It is said to be a 6.7-inch big display with an unknown resolution yet. But since it has a 120Hz mode, the display is expected to bring extra smooth animations and overall screen experience.
Since the iPhone is a mainstream product, Apple's choice of using this should push a lot of developers to make apps and games with support to that smoother refresh rate.
Meanwhile, the LiDAR camera is said to assist autofocus and subject detection for Video and Night Mode. There is also an option for 4K 240 fps Slow-mo, Enhanced Night Mode with extended exposure times on tripod, Advanced Noise Reduction, Bit Depth Video, and Zoom Capabilities.
LiDAR is for measuring distances by illuminating the target with laser light and measuring the reflection with a sensor.
Early leaks of the phone in May claimed that the device will sport a 6.7-inch Samsung OLED Super Retina XDR display with proMotion and 10-bit Color Depth, 6GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a triple-camera with LiDAR.
