Renowned global tech giant Huawei quietly expanded its Y series portfolio in the UAE with the release of the Y9a.
Huawei Y9a now official |
Y series Huawei phone with a fresh design and MediaTek inside
Design-wise, the Huawei Y9a has several similarities coming from the Enjoy 20 Plus in China. It also sports a circular camera hump at the back with gradient colorways.
This time, you will see it in Space Silver, Midnight Black, and Sakura Pink colorways.
92 percent screen-to-body ratio |
In front, it uses a 6.63-inch LCD IPS screen with 2400 x 1080 resolution and a 20:9 screen aspect ratio. It doesn't have a punch-hole or a notch because of its use of a 16MP f/2.2 front camera setup.
Under the hood, it won't load with the 5G-ready MediaTek Dimensity 800 chip. Instead, it uses the budget gaming-focused Helio G80 octa-core processor based on the 12nm manufacturing process. It is paired with either 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 expandable storage via NM card slot, and a 4,200mAh battery with USB-C 40W SuperCharge tech.
The phone also sports a 64MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth quad-camera setup and a dual-tone LED flash.
The handset also has WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, and dual SIM slots.
As expected, it runs with Android 10 OS with EMUI 10.1 skin, Huawei Mobile Services, and AppGallery.
UAE price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):
In the UAE, it is priced at USD 239 or roughly around PHP 11.6K.
The handset is visible on the global page of Huawei, so there's a chance that it will also launch here.
