LG Wing is the most unique dual-screen handset yet

As mentioned, the handset has two screens. It goes with a 6.8-inch P-OLED FullVision Main Screen with FHD+ 2440 x 1080 resolution, 20.5:9 screen aspect ratio, and an In-Display fingerprint reader. It is paired with a 3.9-inch G-OLED Second Screen with FHD+ resolution and 1.15:1 screen aspect ratio.

The purpose of the second screen is to let the phone activate the Swivel Mode making it rotate 90 degrees clockwise. This mode will allow users to interact with the second screen while content plays uninterrupted on the Main Screen.

To make it possible, LG used a hinge module with Hydraulic Damper to reduce stress on the mechanism when the main screen rotates. The company also added a Thermoplastic polyoxymethylene at the back of the Main Screen to facilitate smoother swiveling and to prevent scratches on the Second Screen.

The South Korean giant claimed that the hinge mechanism can survive up to 200,000 swivels.

Basically, this handset is designed for multitasking where you can use the two screens simultaneously. For example, on YouTube or other compatible multimedia apps, the Second Screen can be used as a Media Controller. While Playing Asphalt Legends, the second screen could display the map.

It also has a Multi App features that create shortcuts for pairs of apps. LG showed that the Swivel Mode can be useful when driving as it allows users to follow map directions on the main screen while the second screen can be used for calls. If the Grip Lock is activated, the Second Screen can useful info such as display time and date while ignoring accidental touches.

The phone uses a body with MIL-STD 810G compliance and IP54 water and dust resistance in Aurora Gray and Illusion Sky colorways.

Inside, the phone is powered by the 7nm EUV Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G octa-core processor clocked up to 2.4GHz paired with Adreno 620 GPU. The SoC will be assisted by 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage up to 2TB via microSD slot. The phone also uses a 4,000mAh battery with USB-C Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0+ 25W fast charging and 10W wireless charging.

For cameras, it uses a triple-camera setup featuring a 64MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, 12MP f/2.2 120-degree Ultra Wide Big Pixel Gimbal mode, and a 13MP f/1.9 117-degree wide-angle camera. LG explained that the Gimbal mode turns the phone's Second Screen into a convenient grip and provides better stability for clearer photos and smoother video footage with one hand.

For selfies, it has a pop-up 32MP f/1.9 shooter that retracts automatically when the phone is dropped.

Completing the specs, the handset comes with a dual-band WiFi, 5G SA/NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou.
