NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series with up to 8K gaming now official!
NVIDIA announces the GeForce RTX 3000 series with faster performance starting at USD 499

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090

First up, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 has 10,496 CUDA cores, 1.70GHz boost clock, and 24GB GDDR6X VRAM. This beastly GPU promises 60FPS at 8K resolution. It is based on NVIDIA's Ampere GPU architecture designed to provide huge performance gains for PC even with ray tracing enabled. It also has 8K HDR ShadowPlay support and HDMI 2.1.

NVIDIA also nicknamed the RTX 3090 as the BFGPU or Big Ferocious GPU. The nickname is perfect since it will occupy three slots. It also comes with a silencer to make it 10 times quieter than Titian RTX GPUs. It is expected to use up to 350W of power so a 750W PSU is recommended.

Next up is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 that promises up to twice the performance of the RTX 2080 and an improvement in speed compared to the RTX 2080 Ti. It has 8,704 CUDA cores, a 1.71GHz boost clock, and 10GB GDDR6X VRAM.

It features an updated thermal design with a pennant-shaped board and a new cooling shroud. This design is for improved airflow and answering the issues in terms of thermals with RTX 2080. It also has a dual-fan setup which promises a 55 percent improvement in airflow.

The RTX 3080 will use a new 12-pin power connector along with the other RTX 3000 series GPUs. An adapter compatible with the 8-pin cables will be included with the Founders Edition cards.
