Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 750G SoC with 5G, the chip inside Galaxy A42 5G

Qualcomm today launched its newest mid-range chip with 5G connectivity under the Snapdragon 700 series, the Snapdragon 750G.

New mid-range Qualcomm 5G SoC

Snapdragon 750G is manufactured under Samsung's 8nm process node. It uses 2x Cortex-A77 cores at 2.2GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 1.8GHz.

It is paired with the Adreno 619 GPU with 10 percent improvement over Adreno 618. It also has the Hexagon 694 HVX + Tensor with 4TOPS, Dual Spectra 355L ISP, 10-bit HDR pipelines, and the same Snapdragon X52 integrated 5G modem with SA/NSA.

The chip looks similar to the Snapdragon 690, but it has the inclusion of mmWave 5G connectivity support

Devices with this chip are expected to be available by the end of the year.
Samsung Galaxy A42 5G

Xiaomi claims to be the first vendor with such platform, but the source code of the recently announced Samsung Galaxy A42 5G showed that it uses the Adreno 619 GPU. The said GPU is only found on the Snapdragon 750G SoC at the moment.
