The realme SLED Smart TV features a 55-inch screen and this new type of panel promises a 108 percent NTSC color spectrum coverage while maintaining TÜV Rheinland certification for blue light protection.

It is explained that SLED is a new LCD formula with a new innovation in the backlight. Normally, the backlight is white which is fed through RGB filters to produce colors. SLED uses a red, green, and blue LED backlight. It is still an LCD with polarizers and a liquid crystal layer.

It has a goal of getting an optimal wavelength for each color for a wider color spectrum and better image quality overall.

In comparison, QLED starts with a blue backlight and uses quantum dots to absorb blue light and emit red or green followed by an LCD layer to control the amount of light that passes through each pixel.

realme believes that this is a superior solution. Let's wait and see.
