- Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Smart Band in India.
- The new wearable is priced at Rs 1,599 ($22) and is available from tomorrow.
Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand launched its first fitness tracker earlier this year in the Redmi Smart Band, essentially being an even cheaper Mi Band. Now, the wearable has launched in India, so what should you expect?
For starters, the Redmi Smart Band packs a 1.08-inch color screen, non-detachable straps (unlike the Mi Band series), and four colorways (blue, black, green, and orange).
The budget wearable packs quite a bit of functionality too, such as 50+ face options, step/sleep/heart-rate tracking, sedentary reminders, direct charging, and up to two weeks of endurance. Other notable features include music controls, notifications, and 5ATM water resistance.
The Redmi Smart Band will be available in India from tomorrow (September 9) via Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home, and selected offline partners. Expect to pay just Rs 1,599 (~$22) for the new fitness tracker.
That price tag is slightly more expensive than the Realme Band, which usually retails for Rs 1,499 (~$20). Then again, our own Dhruv Bhutani said Realme’s wearable was an “obvious first generation product” and directed users to alternative wearables instead.
