vivo earlier demoed a never before seen smartphone design prototype that we might see on future devices soon—a back panel with auto changing colors.
Shifting colors? |
Another vivo innovation?
In a video, vivo showed that what they did is completely different from the usual gradient patterns we normally see. The company used technology based on electrochromism, a phenomenon allowing the glass to change its color or opacity when voltage is applied.
It is a sandwich of two glass sheets with two transparent electrode sheets and an electrochromic film in between as well as an ion conductor and ion storage film. This solution allows the back panel to change in color when the voltage is applied.
The phone prototype they showed in the video appears to be the vivo S7 5G even if they tried to hide it.
Leaker Digital Chat Station said that we might see this new tech next year. If true, it means that vivo is already preparing to mass produce it.
One thing is for sure, we will keep you guys updated.
