In China, Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi TV LUX Pro 82-inch 8K 5G and 4K TVs and will be available for purchase on October 21, 2020.

82-inch 8K TV with 5G!
Several months ago, the Xiaomi announced the innovative Transparent TV. On September 28, the company announced the Mi TV LUX Pro 82-inch 8K 5G TV and the Mi TV LUX 82-inch 4K TV.
The 8K 5G TV is the most advanced television from the Chinese manufacturer and it features an 8K Mini LED Panel that Xiaomi claims provide an eye-popping 2000 nits of brightness, 4,000,000:1 contrast ratio and over 10.7 Billion colors. The panel has over 960 local dimming zones and has the capability to cover 98 percent of P3 wide color gamut!
It supports 8K or 7680 x 4320 at 60Hz playback and it supports SR image enhancement that can upscale 1080, 2K and 4K content to 8K. It also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, 120Hz MEMC, Automatic Low Latency Mode and noise reduction algorithm.
Xiaomi has also partnered with iQiyi, a popular video streaming service that offers 50+ 8K video content for customers to consume.
The Mi TV LUX Pro is also future proof as the upcoming Sony PlayStation 5 and XBox Series X will both support 8K gaming and the TV has an integrated 5G modem.
In the Audio department, the Mi TV LUX Pro comes with a 60W dual-soundbar attached on both sides of the TV. It features over 8-unit speakers with a large 2.5L sound cavity powered by Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD, and Mi Stereo Sound. It also has 4 far-field microphones so that users can interact with the TV with Xiaomi's XiaoAI 3.0 Voice Assistant.
Inside the TV is a quad-core NOVATEK chipset, 4GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, MIUI for TV 3.0 OS, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared sensor, 3 HDMI 2.1 ports, 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port, a Gigabit Ethernet Port, a Fiber Optic port, an AV port, an antenna port, a SIM card slot and an RGB LED strip for added aesthetics.

Next up is the Mi TV LUX 82-inch 4K TV with a large 82-inch 3840 x 2160 LCD panel with LED backlighting. This panel has a peak brightness of over 1000 nits, a 1,400,000:1 contrast ratio, 240 local dimming zones and it supports 93 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, over 1.07 Billion colors and has super slim bezels with 97.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Inside the 4K Mi TV is a quad-core MediaTek chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage and is running on MIUI for TV 3.0.
The 4K TV also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, noise reduction and 120Hz MEMC. It also features 6-unit dual speakers powered by Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD and Mi Stereo sound. Other features include 4 far-field microphones, infrared sensor, RGB LED strip, dual-band Wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, an Antenna port, an AV port and a Fiber Optic port.

Both TVs will be available for purchase in China this October 21 in China. There is no information yet if it will be available internationally nor is there information on International pricing.
