Huawei Mate 40 Pro's AI Benchmark score is so much higher than every Android phone out there

Just a few days after getting the DxOMark camera crown, the newly launched Huawei Mate 40 Pro has just been hailed the king of AI Benchmark.

It's not even close

Higher than every Android phone

The Zurich Switzerland-based AI benchmark site shared that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro achieved a total AI Score of 216.6 points to leapfrog the Android competition by a considerable mile.

The nearest competition is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ powered Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra and vivo iQOO Z1 with 135.3 and 133.0 points, respectively.

In comparison, the Huawei P40 Pro+ with Kirin 990 5G inside only got a score of 76.2 even if it is still in the top 5 of the list.

This means that the new Mate 40 Pro powered by the 5nm Kirin 9000 has an AI performance that is almost 3x faster and better than the Kirin 990 5G AI.

To recall, the Kirin 9000 is a chip built using 1x1x Cortex-A77 Super Core clocked at 3.13GHz, 3x Cortex-A77 Big Cores clocked at 2.54GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 Efficiency Cores clocked at 2.04GHz. It also has the Mali-G78 MP24 GPU and the 2x Big-Core + 1x Tiny-Core) Triple NPU design to handle AI tasks.

Based on early benchmarks, the Kirin 9000 chip is one of the most powerful (if not the most powerful) chip for mobile phones.

The scores of the Kirin 9000E was not included in the list yet. The new iPhones with 5nm Bionic A14 chips were not listed yet as well.
