More IKEA in the Philippines? |
IKEA in Baguio, Iloilo, and more!
IKEA is a popular Swedish furniture maker with stores all around the world. It's going to have its first huge store in the Philippines in Pasay City inside the SM Mall of Asia Complex.
IKEA will accompany its physical store with its own online store as well. Screenshots from Bloomberg TV Philippines revealed that there will be IKEA stores in Baguio, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, and Davao.
IKEA is said to be looking to open 4 to 6 locations in the country in the next 5 to 10 years. These may range between the big traditional IKEA stores to smaller retail stores. These are still plans though and the exact locations are yet to be finalized. For IKEA, location is very important to make sure that the logistics are perfect for the many visitors they expect.
The first IKEA store in the Philippines will be the biggest IKEA store in the world at 65,000 square meters. This is a far cry from the typical IKEA store that measures at just 35,000 square meters. The IKEA store will also be linked to the SM Mall of Asia.
