In a Tweet, Xiaomi revealed that it has committed to reducing the plastic used in its packaging by 60 percent.
Xiaomi is showing Apple a different approach
It will start in Europe first and it seems like the Mi 10T Lite will be first with it.
We unboxed the #Mi10TLite - Atlantic Blue variant 😎 You'll get all the essentials, just with less plastic waste. Starting in Europe, we've committed to reducing plastic packaging by about 60%. 🌏 pic.twitter.com/ai1yq3YR92

Taking a look at its packaging when unboxed, it showed the phone itself along with the cable for file transfer/charging, SIM ejector tool, and paper documents. While the company reduced the plastic used in its packaging, it appears that Xiaomi was able to keep its 33W fast charging power brick. The company was even generous enough to include a FREE clear case for extra protection.
Xiaomi's Tweet reads that "you'll get all the essentials, just with less plastic waste." Obviously, this is a jab at Apple's move by removing the in-box charger in its packaging to go completely Carbon Neutral.
Xiaomi is also saying that they can still help in saving the earth by reducing plastic in its packaging while keeping everything that a consumer will need inside the package.
