You can now buy 5G Samsung phones from Google Fi

The Google Fi packaging.

  • Google Fi is now selling Samsung 5G phones on its website.
  • It’ll also sell the Google Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 when they’re released.

Google Fi is expanding its device portfolio to include 5G smartphones from Samsung. You could already use Google Fi on unlocked Samsung Galaxy phones, but now you can buy a 5G Samsung phone directly from the MVNO.

The new Samsung phones you can buy from Google Fi include the following:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy A71 5G.

Google is also offering several discounts on the aforementioned Samsung phones if you buy them directly from the Google Fi website. For a limited time, you’ll get $300 Fi credit when you purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra. You can also save $300 on the Samsung Galaxy S20 and $150 on Samsung Galaxy A71 5G when you buy and activate on Fi.

With these phones, you’ll get all the benefits of Google Fi, including the ability to shift between cellular and Wi-Fi, intelligent network switching, and 5G coverage with any plan. However, it’s worth noting that Google Fi’s 5G network uses T-Mobile’s infrastructure. This is why your 5G phone will only connect to the carrier’s sub-6GHz network. You can check if Google Fi has 5G coverage in your area by visiting the MVNO’s website.

Apart from Samsung phones, you will also be able to buy Google’s own Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G with a Google Fi plan once the phones become available. If you don’t want to buy a phone from Google Fi, you also have the option of using any unlocked phone compatible with T-Mobile’s 5G network on Google Fi.
