A BEAST! Huawei Mate 40 Pro with Kirin 9000 scores 720K at AnTuTu

Early benchmarks showed the Kirin 9000 chip is really fast. But when placed on an actual retail unit like the Mate 40 Pro, it yielded even higher scores.

Kirin 9000 on the Mate 40 Pro is a monster

Compared to the pre-launch Mate 40 with an AnTuTu score of 693,605, the Mate 40 Pro retail unit got a monstrous score of 721,462. The handset got a UX score of 90,943, a MEM score of 131,084, a GPU score of 304,672, and a CPU score of 194,763 to reach the over 720K mark.

This is the first time that an Android-powered smartphone breached the 700K mark which is so much higher than the 520K score of the previous Huawei flagship chip Kirin 990 5G found on the P40 Pro+.

The score that the Mate 40 Pro achieved is also higher even compared against the September top-scoring iPad 4 Pro with an average score of 716,762 and ROG Phone 3 with an average score of 642,671.

Kirin 9000's score is also higher than the leaked score of the upcoming Exynos 1080 with 693,600.

The result is due to Huawei's use of the 14nm process like the Apple Bionic A14 chip. To recall, the Kirin 9000 is a 5G-ready chip which boasts 1x Cortex-A77 Super Core clocked at 3.13GHz, 3x Cortex-A77 Big Cores clocked at 2.54GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 Efficiency Cores clocked at 2.04GHz as well as the highest Mali-G78 version with 24 cores in total.

Also, we can tell that Huawei optimized the Mate 40 Pro's performance pretty well.
