  • The new Redmi Note 9 series’ specs have leaked.
  • The “high-end” variant may be a rebranded Mi 10T Lite with a more capable rear camera.
  • Redmi’s lesser-spec’d device may include a MediaTek Dimensity chipset with a 5,000mAh battery.

The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 series devices have been detailed in perhaps their most revealing leak so far. Per tipster Digital Chat Station, there’ll be at least two versions on offer.

The “high-end version” proves the most exciting on paper. According to the leak, it’s the larger of the two weighing in at 214 grams with dimensions of 165.4mm x 76.8mm x 9mm.

It’s said to pack a 6.67-inch 2,400 x 1,080 LCD with an adaptive refresh rate. This was rumored earlier this week and will allow the phone to scale between 30Hz and 120Hz to suit the application demands. A 240Hz touch sampling rate should aid gamers with quick fingers, too. A punch-hole camera reportedly features upfront housing a 16MP shooter. At the rear, four cameras make an appearance headlined by a 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor.

Internally, the high-end Redmi Note 9 will seemingly run a Snapdragon 750G chipset powered by a 4,820mAh battery coupled with 33W charging.

If you’re sensing a theme here, it’s because the phone’s specs largely mirror the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite‘s crib sheet, save for the main camera. It’s unclear if the new Redmi Note 9 will mirror the Mi 10T Lite’s physical design, too.

As for the less impressive Redmi Note 9 variant, it’ll feature a slightly lighter body with dimensions of 162mm x 77.3mm x 9.2mm, per the tipster. It reportedly houses a 6.53-inch display with a 2,400 x 1,080 resolution. It’s unclear if this display will also get the adaptive 120Hz/240Hz treatment, though. It will however see a punch-hole housing a 13MP sensor this time. A 48MP shooter is located at the rear, alongside two other snappers.

Unlike the high-end Redmi Note 9, this model will reportedly run MediaTek silicon, namely the Dimensity 800U chipset. It’ll be partnered by a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging, the leak concludes.

There’s no further word on the phones’ launch info, but earlier reports suggest they’ll debut this month, likely in China initially. As for pricing, the premium Redmi Note 9 model should retail for around $300 if the Mi 10T Lite’s pricing is used as a guide.
