is there a do it yourself instructions to update a games version??

Hi all is there a do it yourself instructions to update a games version?? I have an IQ of 30 so is there also a step by step guide on how to change any game versions and not just “here’s the program you figure it out” this is because some hackers either don’t bother updating the games or wait for weeks and with games that have events etc this is unacceptable. I know that if I managed to update the games version that the hack wouldn’t work but that for now is ok. It’s just about gaining access to the games. many thx
