Snow Camping Noobie looking for tips

So I want to eventually try to do some snow camping, though trying to go on days/nights when the snow has already fallen and there shouldn't be anymore heavy snow falls during the time I'm there. It'll be car camping style. I was thinking of getting an insulated tent, like a Crua Outdoors style though that may be overkill. Not sure if I should go that route or just get a ice fishing tent with a hole cut out for a stove to keep me warm. The coldest I've ever camped in is around 25F in a 15F rated sleeping bag, a cot, and a summer tent., So not too cold, just below freezing temps. No snow where I was at, but I was right next to a large lake. So feel free to share your personal experiences and what mistakes you've ran into when you first started so I can maybe learn from them. Cheers!
