Need advice with unity hacking

hello I have just started to messing with unity and hacking games and I have one problem every time I try to change health/damage value in multiple games it works but it also works for the npc too, I have used IGG to search for the values and I can lock the health value and it works and the npc takes damage, so I set a watchpoint on the value but everything I change makes the npc have god mode too. Any advice would be amazing thanks!
