Google bans employees from using Zoom on their devices


Another day and another organization has banned Zoom over privacy concerns around the popular video conferencing app. This one’s pretty big: Google has barred all its employees from using Zoom on their devices. BuzzFeed News reported last night that the company’s security team sent an internal email last week notifying employees that Zoom would stop working on their work machines, citing “security concerns” in the app. A Google spokesperson said in a statement that Zoom’s desktop client doesn’t meet the company’s security standards; employees can use Zoom through a web browser or mobile to stay in touch with family and…

Today, we learned that the Nova 5T has received another price cut. It is now priced at just PHP 15,990!

This new price cut made the Nova 5T an even more attractive deal. At PHP 15,990, it is currently the most affordable with late 2018 to mid-2019 flagship-grade chipset.

In case you missed it, this handset comes with a 6.26-inch FHD+ punch-hole screen with the 2.6GHz 7nm Kirin 980 octa-core processor with Dual-NPU and Mali-G76 MP10 GPU inside. Kirin 980 is a chip that's capable of running nearly all apps and games with ease.

Chinese video-sharing social networking service TikTok has just pledged to donate USD 1 million (around PHP 50 million) to the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation, Inc. (PGHMFI).

USD 1M donation to PH frontliners

The fund to be donated can be used by health care professionals to gain access to essential protective gear and equipment along with hardship relief for health care workers.

The donation is a part of TikTok's efforts all over the world to help the health care community it the fight against the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

TikTok could attest to the Filipino resilience. We have witnessed how the Filipino community managed to look out for each other and bring a smile or deliver a message of hope despite the gravity of the situation. We are grateful that TikTok has been part of Filipinos' everyday lives. We hope that this donation will give our medical frontliners the best equipment and supplies that will lead to the healing of the Philippines. Huawei releases Vision X65, the company's first OLED TV with 120Hz refresh rate

Huawei just launched its most advanced Smart TV yet, the Vision X65.

More than just a regular OLED Smart TV

The Huawei Vision X65 is the first OLED TV of the company. It uses a super slim body with a 65-inch OLED panel with 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and up to 1,000 nits of brightness.

The company also boasts that it is the world's largest display in the world that passed the certification of TÜV Rheinland for eye care.

Huawei Vision X65 also highlights a total of 14 speakers with up to 75W output to complete the audiovisual experience. It has 6x 10W speakers, 6x 3W high-frequency speakers, and 2x 18W low-frequency speakers.

It also has a custom Honghu 898 chip with AI algorithms that optimized OLED screens for better image quality. It is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. For a  TV, that is considered as large.

This TV also has a pop-up camera mechanism on the top to house the 24MP ultra-wide-angle camera for video calls. It has its own  HiSilicon Hi3559C chip with NPU for AI computing. This allows the camera to let you use gesture controls for audio and video.

In China, you can now pre-order the TV for CNY 24,999 (around PHP 178K). It'll ship from April 26.

Huawei also released the refreshed Vision V55i TV for CNY 3,799 (around PHP 27K).
